Do Google Business Profile photos help AI visibility

Photos on your Google Business Profile do almost nothing for AI visibility on their own, because the assistants answering questions work from text and structured data, not images — a model cannot read what is in a storefront photo and turn it into a reason to recommend you. What helps is the thing photos are part of: a complete, active, well-maintained Business Profile. Profiles with photos tend to be fuller and more trusted, and the signals a model actually uses — accurate category, hours, services, reviews and a consistent name, address and phone — are what move the needle. So add photos because they help real customers choose you and keep your profile healthy, but do not expect the images themselves to be a ranking factor in AI answers; the text and completeness around them are what count.
