A video testimonial is powerful social proof for human buyers, but for AI visibility its value depends entirely on whether the words become machine-readable text. Models cannot watch a video; they read transcripts, captions, on-page quotes and structured review data. So a testimonial that lives only as an embedded clip does almost nothing for whether AI names you, while the same testimonial transcribed to text on the page, or turned into a written Review-schema quote, becomes exactly the kind of specific, credible social proof models weigh when deciding who to recommend. The most effective approach is to pair the video with its transcript or a pulled-out written quote (with the customer's name and, where relevant, location and use case), mark reviews up with Review schema, and keep the specifics — outcomes, numbers, the problem solved — in the text, because concrete detail is more quotable than generic praise. Publish video for humans; publish the text for the models. Do both and a testimonial works on both audiences at once.
