Do author bylines help AI recommend you?

Author bylines help AI visibility by attaching real, verifiable expertise to your content, which matters more as assistants lean on experience-and-expertise signals to decide which sources to trust. A page written by a named author with a genuine bio, credentials and a consistent identity across the web reads to a model as more authoritative than anonymous copy - and in expertise-sensitive categories like health, law and finance that trust gap can decide whether your content is drawn on at all. The value is real but conditional: the author has to be a real, consistent entity, not a made-up name. The move is to publish substantive content under named experts, give each a proper bio and author page, link their professional profiles, and keep that identity consistent everywhere so the model can connect the expertise to a person it can verify.
