Breadcrumb schema (BreadcrumbList JSON-LD) is a small but real AI-visibility hygiene factor because it makes the structure of your site machine-readable — it tells a crawler exactly how a page relates to the rest of your site and where it sits in the hierarchy, which helps a model understand context rather than treating every page as an orphan. For a business with many pages — service pages, location pages, a resource library — clear breadcrumbs help assistants grasp that a page is, say, "your firm → practice areas → estate planning → in Denver," which sharpens how accurately they can describe and place you. It also reinforces internal linking and helps consolidate topical signals around the right sections. The honest limits are that this is infrastructure, not authority: breadcrumbs won't make AI recommend you on their own, they only matter on multi-page sites where hierarchy is meaningful, and malformed markup helps nothing. But it's cheap, it's part of a clean structured-data foundation, and on a larger site it helps models read your content the way you intend — which is the quiet groundwork everything else builds on.
