NAP consistency is one of the quieter but higher-leverage AI-visibility signals, because before an assistant can recommend you it has to be confident that the scattered mentions of your business across the web all refer to one entity. When your name, address and phone number read identically on your site, your listings and the directories that cite you, that resolution is easy and the assistant can pool every signal — reviews, mentions, descriptions — behind a single confident identity. When they conflict, even in small ways like a suite number on one listing and not another, or an old phone number left on a profile, the assistant can split you into near-duplicate entities, each too thin to be named. Fixing it is unglamorous and nearly free: pick one canonical version of your details and make everything match it exactly, punctuation included. It rarely creates a recommendation on its own, but inconsistency quietly caps the return on everything else you do.
Most businesses score under 40/100 and have no idea. Find your score in 15 seconds, then fix it.
