Publishing original data is one of the strongest long-term AI-visibility moves available, because assistants and the writers they learn from gravitate toward citable facts, and a unique statistic or finding that only you can be the source of is the most linkable, most quotable thing on the web. When you run a survey, analyze your own aggregated numbers, or publish a benchmark, you create a reason for other sites to reference you — and those third-party citations are exactly the corroboration that decides whether a model names you. Over time an original dataset can make you the default source a model reaches for when a question touches your topic. The requirements are real: the data has to be genuine and clearly methodological, presented on a crawlable page with the key figures in readable text (not locked in an image or PDF), and framed around the questions people actually ask. It is a slower play than claiming a listing, but it compounds — each citation strengthens your authority, and authority is the hardest signal for a competitor to copy.
